I love that there are so many options for being part of this club! We don’t have a lot of storage space and were more excited about the beans than the grains, so really appreciated that we could get a quarterly box of just beans. I look forward to it!! Love all of the varieties and learning about the different producers.
I cooked the Chico Rice just once and it was so yummy. I've never cooked sushi rice before and I just ate it with my Arikara Yellow Beans. The beans I just soaked and cooked and they were so delicious all by themselves- just a little salt.
Then I moved on to the Peruano Beans. Here I was more experimental as I cooked a lot. First used them in a vegetable chili, then refried them with my CSA chili powder. Finally finished the refried beans so now I'm onto the other beans I've ordered in the past!
This is a great offering and every three months is perfect for someone only cooking for themself- use to have a family of seven! Too late for pictures.
This was my first shipment from the Bean & Grain Club, but everything was delicious and it introduced me to a new bean (Eye of the Goat) that I had never tried before. They were excellent and the customer service was fantastic.
3 of my life’s pleasures in one box … new foods to try; new ways to prepare foods; and appreciating the quality of and hard work to get them there! Thanks to Foodocracy and the farmers!
It’s like a monthly Christmas present. The tolosa beans were amazing and I’ve never seen them anywhere else! Such a treat to get these really rare beans.
