For as long as we’ve been friends, food has been our common obsession. One day while we were sharing our favorite farmers market finds it hit us. After decades in marketing and advertising for corporate America we founded Foodocracy for people like us. People who love small batch food from passionate makers and are determined to create positive social change.
Our mission is to champion unique products and talented artisans from across the US while contributing to social good through food. By promoting local products we support the local farmers who supply them. By using decades of big brand experience we help indie producers compete. By supporting programs like Would Works we help people struggling to recover from adversity. Join us as we create a different kind of ecommerce. One with social good at it’s core.

Deep Silver and Lisa Riznikove
Lisa is obsessed with food. Through her career in advertising she had the privilege of eating at many Michelin star restaurants and got to know many chefs. She then started to sous vide and work with specialty ingredients at home. Lisa and her husband even faked having a restaurant so that they could purchase ingredients from the same restaurant purveyor used by Michael Mina and Thomas Keller (shhh, don't tell). Her passion for great food also became a passion for clean ingredients and our environment. Now after over 20 years in advertising, Lisa has decided to join the food revolution in a bigger way as one of the co-founders of Food/ocracy. She is putting all of her skills as an award winning advertising creative director to good use promoting purpose-driven small batch foods. Lisa's favorite flavors are smokey, umami and sweet. She loves tea but she's allergic to coffee. Some like it hot but Lisa likes it medium hot. She loves little heat to spice things up but not ghost pepper heat. She loves cocktails with Mezcal, or gin, or vodka, or bourbon...ok she pretty much loves all cocktails as long as they aren't sweet. Lisa also collects wine with her husband and travels all over California sampling some of the most amazing wines created.
Deep’s passion for good food started before she could walk. As a toddler, she loved authentic foods with good flavor that her grandmother prepared for her in India. She’s always had a love for fresh foods and developed a fondness for local flavors with much panache. After immigrating to the USA at age 7, her love for exploring new foods in a new world continued and her love for spicy and pure flavor food was front and center. (And boy does she still like it HOT!) As an adult, food led her into a career as a brand marketer for big food companies. Years later at an event put on by Slow Food Ventura the pieces all came together and Deep realized that she needed to be part of the movement creating a more sustainable food culture. Deep LOVES to cook and play with new ingredients and recipes are just a suggestion. She is experimental in the kitchen and loves finding passionate small batch makers to promote. She loves savory and spicy over dessert but when it comes to cocktails, she does not discriminate. In her free time, you can find her checking out the latest food find around town or along her travels. Her biggest accomplishment is raising two little foodies of her own that are developing a palate for good, clean food and perusing the local Farmer’s Market.
