  • Whole Kernel Cob-Roasted Pima Corn (Huun Ga'i)

The unforgettable fire-roasted, sweet flavor has made this extremely rare, Cob-Roasted Pima Corn a highly sought after ingredient. Huun Ga'i brings indigenous traditions to your table, making the most delectable soups and stews and sides ever. Heirloom Pima Corn is hand picked, husked, then roasted over a mesquite fire and set out in the sun to dry. It is finally shelled by hand and packaged for you by the O'dham people in Arizona.

The O'dham people have been growing Pima corn for thousands of years in the Sonoran Desert. This traditional favorite of the tribe is available in very limited quantities each year and we are fortunate to be able to offer it to you.

    8 oz. bag

    HOW TO USE IT

Similar to dry beans or hominy Huun Ga'i must be rehydrated and cooked before eating. Either soak overnight in water and then simmer in a soup or salted water on the stove for 20 minutes or combine with 3 cups of salted water for each cup of corn, bring to a boil and then simmer for one hour. Now your Huun Ga'i is ready to add to cornbread, side dishes and salads or served with butter as a side dish.
