  • Farm Fresh Raw Rolled Oats

    size

Indulge in Farm Fresh Rolled Oats from Brian Severson Farms, carefully grown, harvested, and milled right on the farm in Dwight, IL. Unlike mass-produced oats, these hulless oats, a unique variety known as *Avena nuda*, naturally shed their hulls during harvest, preserving the full raw nutrition and quality. Brian Severson's oats are non-GMO, certified organic, and minimally processed without heat treatment. Cold-rolled into thick, old-fashioned oatmeal, these oats retain their exceptional taste, a result of the darker oat variety chosen for flavor over appearance. Enjoy pure, farm-fresh oats that have never left the care of this small, family-owned farm.

Not just a breakfast staple, our oats transcend the ordinary, making them perfect for everything from morning cereals to indulgent homemade cookies and granola. Elevate your culinary experience with these exceptional grains, knowing that you're supporting conscientious small-scale growing practices and savoring the true essence of farm-fresh goodness.

Because these oats are fresh and never heated they should be stored in your refrigerator to maintain their delectable taste and nutritional integrity.

*Not wheat/gluten allergy appropriate. Grown on a farm that also grows wheat and milled in a facility that processes wheat.

    Cooking Notes

    Basic Old Fashioned Rolled Oats

    Stovetop Method:

    1. Bring water (or milk) to a boil in a saucepan
    2. Stir in oats and reduce heat to medium
    3. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until oats are tender and have absorbed most of the liquid
    4. Remove from heat and let stand for 2-3 minutes to thicken
    5. Add your favorite toppings

    Microwave Method:

    1. Combine oats and water (or milk) in a large microwave-safe bowl (use a large bowl to prevent overflow)
    2. Microwave on high for 2½-3 minutes, watching carefully to prevent overflow
    3. Stir well and let stand for 1-2 minutes to thicken
    4. Add your favorite toppings

Ratio: 1 part oats to 2 parts liquid (e.g., 1 cup oats to 2 cups water)

    Tips:

    • Using milk instead of water makes creamier oatmeal
    • Add a pinch of salt while cooking to enhance flavor
    • Stir halfway through microwave cooking for more even texture
    • Common toppings include brown sugar, honey, fresh fruit, nuts, cinnamon, or maple syrup
