Nothing could feel more like fall than Apple Cider Jelly from Woods Cider Mill. The deeply caramelized apple flavor is the perfect compliment to everything from roasts to cocktails. This distinctive, hand crafted jelly has one ingredient - apple cider nothing else. It's easy to see why it's been a New England tradition since colonial times.
The Woods family has been making Cider Jelly since 1882. They grind and press apples on the farm's original screw press to make sweet cider and evaporate it in a wood-fired stainless steel evaporator to make Cider Jelly. The cider from about 30 to 50 apples is concentrated in every pound of Cider Jelly. No sugar, preservatives or even pectin are added, just pure, concentrated apple cider. More than anyone else, the Woods have kept the tradition of boiled cider (and cider jelly) alive in New England.
Use this as a delicious jelly on biscuits and toast, serve with pork, make a glaze for a holiday ham, use it as a natural sweetener to balance a spicy dish, glaze carrots, top thumbprint cookies or stir into a fall cocktail.
Every word that advertised this jelly is right on! It is soo tasty with that extra body of cider. It has a zing that I love. It will be hard to give away my 2 extra jars yet 2 people are going to get smiles like mine. Hugh and long lasting!
