I received a pound of these in my Slow Food Box, and used them to make stewed Mexican beans. I always taste a bean or two after soaking, so I know what I'm dealing with. That test is usually pretty neutral ("yep, it's a bean.") These Jacob's Cattle Gold beans were good even at that point! My whole family loved the dinner; one daughter and my husband actually called out the taste of the beans themselves. That's a first. I'm ordering more and am looking forward to exploring other varieties.
