We've elevated your average baked apple with whiskey spiced walnuts and cinnamon goat's milk caramel. This super simple recipe takes very little time and almost no effort yet the reward is a restaurant worthy desert.
Ingredients:
4largegood baking apples (we love the heirloom varieties of course?)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a pan with parchment paper.
With a small melon baller or a spoon, hollow out the center of the apple, scooping out the core but leaving the bottom intact so that the juices can collect.
Combine the sugar, cinnamon and chopped walnuts.
Fill the interior of the apple with the walnut and sugar mixture.
Lay a pad of butter on top of each apple directly on top of the walnut mixture.
Place the apples on the parchment lined baking dish and bake for 20-30 minutes until the apples are very soft and their skin is starting to shrivel.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Serve with goat's milk caramel drizzled on top and extra on the side.
Deliciously crispy potatoes are loaded with spice and za'atar to create an irresistible starter, snack or side dish. I love to serve these slathered with harissa spiked yogurt.
